Every single night, before my fella and I turn in, we pop into our girls' rooms.

Every single night, we marvel at their serene beauty, the softness of their skin and hair, the peaceful innocence in their slumber.

Every single night, we remember when they fit in the crook of one arm—when their dreams must have been of milk and heartbeats instead of tree swings and rides at the seashore.

Every single night, when we open those bedroom doors, we're reminded of what is most important.
And we go to sleep happy.
